The Blades are 'Black'

As predicted in this column pre-season Bryan Robson and Brian Kidd failed spectacularly in their attempts to guide Sheffield Utd back to the Premiership, and paid the price with a separting of the ways last Wednesday.
Unbelievably Robson was actually offered a position within the Club as director of Football !! - Thank god he turned it down. No doubt they got a nice pay off for providing 8 months of misery at Bramall Lane - but hopefully we are well rid, and I have high hopes for Kevin Blackwell, who was put in charge until the end of the season. Hopefully he can get a few results together and pull the Blades away from any possible relegation battle, and then look for a better season in 2008-09.
Kevin was Neil Warnocks assistant at United, and had success in his own right at Leeds - a fall out with Ken Bates after a poor start to the 2006-2007 season saw him dismissed from there.
Then after a year out he took over at Luton, but ended up losing his job when they went into receivership.

I've every faith he will do a good job with the Blades, he will need to offload some of the deadwood that is currently in the squad, but he has a reputation for spending wisely so hopefully he can recoup £4 million from James Beattie and put it to good use before the start of next season.
