I had only played Stud about 3 times previously, and didn't really have much clue as to the best starting hands, or tactics to use, so after a brisk read of the 'How to Play' article in the magazine, I sat down with 180+ players and looked forward to an hour or so entertainment, before I busted out.
3 1/2 hours later I'm on the final table about 3rd of 8 !! - but have subsequently found out that I won't be able to make the Live Playoff Final, as I'll be away on Family Holiday, so I've played 200 + minutes and unless I win the event I'm going to have nothing to show for it.
1/2 hour later I'm Heads Up with a huge Chip Lead and showing down 2pair 8's and 2's, my opponent shows .............. Ace High
-WINNER -
LAS VEGAS HERE I COME !!!!!!!!!!!!
I about dropped of my chair, and swore excessively ..... I still don't think its quite sunk in now.
After contacting Alun at InsidePoker this morning, it looks as though I'm going to be playing in -
-Event 32 of the WSOP-
-19th June 2007-
-2 Day Event -
Seven Card Stud $2000 Buy-In
I'd now better have a read of the rules and learn how to play !!

Absolutely superb!!
Bring home the bracelet!!
WOW! Congrats mate! I've been toying with the idea of stud but have only played for play chippies. Loads of people think they know how to play but haven't a clue.
I remember when Johnny Bax entered the WSOP 7-card stud event and he'd never played before. he got a few pointers from some pros he was out there with and won a frigging bracelet!
Best of luck in Vegas sir!
